THE FUTURE

It's easy to see what the future holds for the PCA industry. In a word—growth.

As the chart below illustrates, the number of individuals 65 and older has steadily increased over time, and will continue to do so in the future. At every step, this growth will translate to a greater need for skilled and dedicated PCAs.

By 2010—just a few years from now—there will be 40 million men and women over 65 living in the United States. In every case, the economic, social, and medical scenarios will be unique, however, one aspect is predictable: The need for assistance in caring for the aging population will increase. Families, communities, and the healthcare system will continue to rely on qualified caretakers to meet the needs of their loved ones, neighbors, and patients.
